On our Facilitation Skills course in Bridgend (and Online), we aim to equip individuals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to become effective facilitators. This course is suitable for anyone who is responsible for leading or managing group discussions, workshops, meetings, or training sessions. During the course, delegates will learn about the role of a facilitator and understand the importance of setting clear goals and objectives for a facilitated session. They will gain techniques to guide discussions effectively, manage timekeeping, and handle personal dynamics within a group. Providing feedback and monitoring the session will also be covered, helping delegates improve the quality of their facilitation.
Dealing with difficult participants is a crucial aspect of facilitation, and the course will provide strategies to handle such situations. Encouraging participation from all individuals will be emphasised to create an inclusive and collaborative environment. To ensure practical application of the learned skills, delegates will engage in a practical activity where they can implement their newly acquired facilitation techniques. Additionally, they will learn how to gather feedback from participants to continually improve their facilitation skills and enhance the overall quality of the sessions they lead.
